International Health & Social Management at MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®

The International Health & Social Management program combines aspects of health and social services with the fundamentals of economics, political sciences, and international management. The program – taught entirely in English – targets the future requirements of international cooperation in the health and social sectors, considering that the demand for qualified experts in these fields is on the rise.

In addition to receiving practical training, students are given the opportunity to improve their soft skills as well as their research methods. They are guaranteed to benefit from the progressive outlook of the program, which places as much importance on practical relevance as on international values.

The degree program adopts a blended learning approach and, thus, includes both on-campus classes and online lessons. This allows students a great degree of freedom and flexibility in the completion of their studies, while providing plenty of opportunity to interact with both teachers and fellow students. A range of elective subjects, furthermore, gives students the opportunity to choose from altogether 15 different areas of specialization in the second semester. Several courses are jointly organized with the MCI study program in Social Work.

International Health & Social Management at MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®: Admission

Applications for admission are accepted on a rolling basis. The required documents are to be submitted online. Applicants are welcome to apply for multiple programs of study, as long as a plausible rationale is given. The final decision may be taken by the end of the application procedures.

Requirements

Applicants are required to submit proof of completion of a higher education degree with a minimum of three year’s study (Bachelor degree) in one of the following subjects: Business Administration, Economics, Medicine, Public Health, Nursing or Social, Political or Natural Sciences.

Our program requires high proficiency in English Language skills. Therefore, the proficiency will be based on:

  • a personal assessment of our candidates at MCI  in September at the beginning of the semester* or,
  • additional methods of proficiency can also be proven via various tests (e.g. TOEFL; minimum score of 90, internet based, 580, paper based), (IELTS; minimum score of 6,5), (BEC higher or Certificate of Advanced English (CAE)), or,
  • graduating from an English-taught Bachelor degree program.

*Please be aware that the MCI personal assessment test option at the beginning of the semester would be the very final opportunity and that therefore an earlier submission of an English test is highly recommended.

Information for graduates whose previous degree is based to a significant extent on formally acknowledged recognition of prior learning:

In this case it may be possible that the legal and/or degree specific admission requirements are not or only partly fulfilled. Please consider the relevant legal regulations for this instance (§ 4 Abs 4 iVm § 12 FHStG). We will gladly provide further information and consultation via email or phone (admissions@mci.edu; Ext. 1621).

Recognition of previous qualifications in the master program:

Applications for recognition of examinations or credits obtained through other study programs or previous scientific experience must be submitted to the Program Director. A decision will only be taken in cases where the application for admission has met with a positive decision. Recognition of credits or previous experience is only granted for individual classes in the program.
