Master of Ecology and Biodiversity

Study contents and focuses

Ecology is a major field involved with the study of organisms, the relations between them and their natural habitats. The interest in this academic discipline is currently at its peak, as ecologists are looking for ways to battle the destruction of ecosystems, animal extinction and the use and abuse of natural resources.

With a Master of Ecology and Biodiversity you will gain theoretical knowledge allowing you to look for ways to solve practical problems. Subjects in Conservation Biology, Genetics, Evolution and Biodiversity will guide you on your way to understanding life processes, natural selection and the distribution of species.

In addition, you will be involved in projects regarding the protection of animals and plants, ecosystem development and environmental protection.

Admission requirements

In order to be eligible for application you will have to present a Bachelor degree in the same or similar area, for example in Biology or Geography. Bear in mind that several universities have more specific requirements such as language skills and/or other documentary.

Your Master studies will typically take four semesters to complete. Upon graduation you will receive the academic award “Master of Science”.
