Birmingham is not only the second largest city in the UK in terms of number of inhabitants. It is also the second largest university town. Only London has more inhabitants and universities. Though, especially female students might have a high interest in studying in Birmingham - it is one of the best shopping metropolises within Great Britain.

The charm of the one-million-inhabitant city is characterized by its former existence as an industry centre in combination with its modern and futuristic architecture.

Particularly, Birmingham is known as the centre of the English beer and chocolate industry. The Cadbury chocolate is produced in Birmingham and proving very popular with national as well as international chocoholics. Nowadays, still 100,000 people are employed in the food sector. Nevertheless, main industries within the city are the financial sector, the tourism industry and the services sector. Hence, graduates have a wide range of job possibilities available.
