Master E-Business (E-Marketing) at Newcastle University Business School

Our E-Business MSc course combines the four essential components of successful e-business: leading-edge technologies, long-term business strategies, entrepreneurship capacity to implement the strategies through the technologies, and the alignment of people’s behaviour inside and outside the organisation.

You will explore how companies conduct electronic business, from start-ups to multinational corporations. The course will also support your personal development, shape your entrepreneurial mind-set and enhance your employability prospects. Delivered by world-class researchers and successful entrepreneurs, we will prepare you to succeed in the modern e-business world.

From a functional perspective, e-business is how companies conduct business electronically, by using the internet, with regards to clients, suppliers and partners. It is also how this is integrated with the internal systems of the firm such as logistics, operations and finance. For example, a modern e-commerce business not only markets and sells online but also integrates its sales systems with its internal systems in real-time. This makes possible to invoice and update the order status of their clients as well as to work with a vast logistic network of partners who ultimately manufacture and dispatch the products to consumers. This success relies on a strong customer-centric organisational culture.

This course offers a balanced combination of modules on e-business. You will start by studying the fundamentals of e-business, gradually developing your analytical and practical skills. By the end of the course you will meet the most demanding professional and academic requirements.

Your development

On completion of this course, you will demonstrate a knowledge of:

  • the business value of contemporary technologies

  • the feasibility of disruptive business models
  • how to foster innovation in firms
  • business planning and new ventures
