Masters e-Business Management at WMG, University of Warwick

Our MSc in e-Business Management has been designed for those who wish to operate effectively in the e-business environment and manage either the transformation of existing business processes or creation of new e-business activity.


The course is suitable for graduates from a whole range of science, engineering and business backgrounds as well as those with a qualification in IT.

 

We will provide you with

 

The techniques to evaluate and manage strategic development of e-business based organisations and manage appropriate enabling e-business technologies
You will learn how to evaluate, manage and improve the operational functions of an organisation and apply the concepts of systems integration to the design and development of products and services through market analysis.

Modules: Masters e-Business Management at WMG, University of Warwick

As e-Business is an increasingly expanding area of opportunity, we have developed four pathways within this Master’s degree in order to help candidates focus on their particular area of interest and specialisation.

 

  • e-Business Management (Digital Marketing)
  • e-Business Management (Digital and Data Science)
  • e-Business Management (Digital Entrepreneurship)
  • e-Business Management (Digital Operations)
     

These pathways enable students to select a defined module route through the course - they will not be detailed on the degree certificate. The course name for all pathways is MSc e-Business Management.
 

You'll be required to take 9 modules as part of this MSc programme. On all pathways, three modules will be compulsory and six modules will selected from specified lists. Visit our web page for further information on the course content for each pathway.

 

The compulsory modules for all e-BM students include:

 

Project


A major individual research project, submitted in the form of a dissertation, accounts for 50% of your overall grade. This should take approximately 900 hours of study time. An oral examination is held upon completion.


Examples of some projects for the MSc in e-Business Management are:

 

  • Investigation of virtual communities for competitive advantage.
  • Measuring success for business websites.
  • Technical computing projects/systems design.
  • The impact of mass-customisation in the on-line environment.
  • Comparison of effectiveness of online advertising to traditional media.

Careers in e-Business: Masters e-Business Management at WMG, University of Warwick

e-Business Management graduates have an ever increasing range of careers to choose from. Alumni often go into IT and e-business consultancy roles, (both self-employed and in large consultancy groups), into e-commerce companies or enterprises with existing or developing online business initiatives. Many graduates chose to go into media companies or take on digital marketing roles.

Admission Requirements: Masters e-Business Management at WMG, University of Warwick

Students wishing to study the MSc in e-Business Management should have obtained at least the equivalent of a UK second class honours degree. Students from science, engineering and business degree backgrounds as well as those with a qualification in IT will be considered for entry onto the MSc. Work experience will also be considered.

 

To make an application to a WMG Masters courses, applications must be made online at www.warwick.ac.uk/go/wmgmasters/entry.

 

You can apply now, even if you do not yet have all the necessary documents ready; if necessary we will make you a conditional offer until you provide them.

 

You will need to provide:

 

  • A completed application form & application fee.
  • A Personal Statement, which can be included in the online application.
  • A transcript of marks awarded so far (if you are currently studying) OR a final transcript / degree certificate* (if you have completed your studies).
  • English test result (if applicable)
  • One reference. If you completed studies less than 2 years ago, this should be an academic reference.

Funding Opportunities

At WMG, we will be awarding over £750,000 in scholarships and bursaries to students commencing study on our full-time MSc programmes in October 2019.

 

WMG Excellence Scholarship


WMG Excellence Scholarships are available on a competitive basis. These scholarships will award students between 25% - 50% tuition fee discount.

 

Awards will be based on past academic achievement, professional experience, extracurricular activities, reasons for study, and your vision for the future. Students are required to complete a scholarship application in order to be considered for the WMG Excellence Scholarships. Applications will close in April 2019.
