International School of Management: International Management

The degree course in International Management aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge to succeed in an international arena. Besides core competencies and proven management abilities, business today needs managers who have acquired and developed the intercultural skills needed to compete in a global market. This is not only necessary to ensure the needs of customers are addressed. Cooperation with international employees and colleagues also demands a level of understanding and awareness.

Building on the knowledge gained in the first degree, students will develop comprehensive and advanced expertise and social skills over three semesters. Each student will also complete a master's dissertation. Particular attention is paid to the analytical abilities of the students. The course covers a wide range of subjects, including International Strategy & Business Development, International Controlling and International Marketing.
Foreign languages are an integral element of the degree programme. It is taught and examined fully in English. Besides English language lectures, students will also be able to improve their fluency in either French or Spanish during the course.

Depending on their choice of partner university, students spending a semester abroad will have the opportunity to develop their foreign language skills in order to communicate effectively in meetings and negotiations.

Students can enrol on the International Management course at the campuses in Dortmund, Frankfurt/Main, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne and Stuttgart.

Together with renowned partner universities, ISM also offers this course as an international double degree.

Duration: 3 semesters + thesis
