The Master's in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability (MSLS) Programme is a 10-month transformational Master´s programme in Karlskrona, Sweden that focuses on advancing students knowledge, skills, and global networks, in order to build their capacity to be a strategic leader in the co-creation of thriving, sustainable societies.

PORGRAMME CONTENT: Education for change

This one-year master´s programme in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability aims to educate leaders capable of supporting the sustainable development of society in a way that strengthens their own organisation. The programme is built around two themes - strategic sustainable development and leading in complexity.

Theme 1: strategic sustainable development

Here you learn how to support a transition to global sustainability by creating and implementing economically beneficial development of products, systems, organisations and societies. You learn about the challenges and opportunities of sustainable development, and about scientifically and practically validated methodology for strategic sustainable development. 

Theme 2: leading in complexity

Here you learn how to handle complexity in a respectful way and enable change efficiently. You explore the complexity of both social change and your own leadership. You learn about scientifically and practically validated methodology for leading in complexity to be able to lead collaborations that enable an attractive sustainable future.

Strategic Sustainable Development, 12,5 credits
Leading in Complexity, 10 credits
Strategic Planning for Sustainability, 7,5 credits
Innovation for Sustainability, 5 credits
Research Methodology for Sustainability, 5 credits

 Master's in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability (MSLS): Entry Requirements

MSLS 2024 APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!

First round applications open on 17 October 2022 and close on 16 January 2023. The last day to submit supporting documentation is 1 February 2023. Please note that you can submit documents on an ongoing basis until this deadline. Late applications open on 17 January 2023.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants having a Bachelor degree, English 6 and relevant work experience (internship, volunteer service, full or part time work, extra-curricular activity) over the course of at least 6 months that demonstrates your experience with social and/or environmental sustainability. We recommend you to use our MSLS work experience template which you can find here: https://www.bth.se/eng/education/masters/msls/apply-to-msls/

Specific eligibility in the English language from upper secondary school for non-Swedish students: 

TOEFL 575/90; IELTS 6.5 no section below 5.5, or University of Cambridge and Oxford tests.
