The MSc in Supply Chain and Logistics Management is designed for the further development of those who want to work in logistics and supply chain engineering and management in manufacturing and service organisations.


 
We will provide you with


The tools and techniques to evaluate, manage and improve service, operational and supply chain processes and conduct market analysis.


You will gain the knowledge on how to evaluate and manage appropriate enabling technologies and use enterprise resource planning systems in order to improve the operational functions of a business. You will also develop a wide knowledge on strategy development and design.

Modules Masters Supply Chain and Logistics Management at WMG, University of Warwick

The course is modular - each student takes a combination of core and elective modules. 9 modules are studied and assessed in total. Modules consist of nominally 40 hours directed tuition in the form of lectures, seminars, group work, presentations, case studies and e-learning. This is covered in a full-emersion, intensive week.

 

Modules are assessed by Post Module Assignment - this is typically a further 40 -60 hours of work.

 

The core modules for the MSc Supply Chain and Logistics Management are:

 

Elective Modules


Elective modules allow you to select areas of study which are of particular interest to you, relevant to your project or future career plans. For Supply Chain and Logistics Management you can choose up to two from the list of elective modules on the website.

 

The taught modules account for 50% of the Master's degree. A major individual research project, submitted in the form of a dissertation accounts for the other 50%. This should take approximately 900 hours of study time. An oral examination is held upon completion.


For Supply Chain and Logistics Management the project can be related to a number of different industrial sectors and can address many different aspects of logistics management. Examples of student projects include:

 

  • Simulation of goods handling at an international airport
  • Deliverly performance of a steel foundary in Asia
  • Analysis of alternative forecasting methodologies
  • Forecasting demand in a changing market.

Carreer prospects Masters Supply Chain and Logistics Management at WMG, University of Warwick

SCLM graduates have a huge spectrum of companies and positions they can work in, including providers of third party logistics, aerospace and electrical/electronic products and technology-based firms.
 

Students from this course go into a variety of roles including: Export Supervisor, Supply Planner, Supply Chain Analyst, Supply Chain Specialist, Consultant, Transport Operator, Procurement Coordinator, Supply Chain Manager/Officer, Planning Executive, Quality Assurance roles amongst many others.

Admission: Masters Supply Chain and Logistics Management at WMG, University of Warwick

Students wishing to study the MSc in Supply Chain and Logistics Management should have obtained at least the equivalent of a UK second class honours degree. Students from a wide variety of backgrounds will be considered for entry onto the MSc but ability in numeracy is important.

 

To make an application to a WMG Masters courses, applications must be made online at www.warwick.ac.uk/go/wmgmasters/entry.

 

You can apply now, even if you do not yet have all the necessary documents ready; if necessary we will make you a conditional offer until you provide them.

 

You will need to provide:

 

  • A completed application form & application fee.
  • A Personal Statement, which can be included in the online application.
  • A transcript of marks awarded so far (if you are currently studying) OR a final transcript / degree certificate* (if you have completed your studies).
  • English test result (if applicable)
  • One reference. If you completed studies less than 2 years ago, this should be an academic reference.

Funding Opportunities

At WMG, we will be awarding over £750,000 in scholarships and bursaries to students commencing study on our full-time MSc programmes in October 2019.

 

WMG Excellence Scholarship


WMG Excellence Scholarships are available on a competitive basis. These scholarships will award students between 25% - 50% tuition fee discount.

 

Awards will be based on past academic achievement, professional experience, extracurricular activities, reasons for study, and your vision for the future. Students are required to complete a scholarship application in order to be considered for the WMG Excellence Scholarships. Applications will close in April 2019.
