Business Law at Radboud University

The Master's specialisation in Business Law focuses on giving students a thorough understanding of EU legislation, as well as the legal practices of enterprises that do business in and with EU member states. This programme will give you a broad understanding of the internal and external markets of the EU, and Europe's position in th world.


This programme is closely connected with the Radboud Business Law Intstitute, a research institute that combines academic excellence with practical expertise. This centre is accredited by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).


What will you learn?
 

  • Investigate topics such as corporate restructuring, corporate mobility, formation and financing of companies, European business forms, employee involvement, corporate governance and takeover regulations
  • Learn to analyse both primary and secondary EU legislation, as well as the case law of the    Court of Justice of the EU and the legislation of relevant jurisdictions
  • Gain understanding of the interaction of European and national law on businesses
  • Get valuable experience designing, conducting and presenting your research

Course Content

Students in this programme must take one compulsory course and choose from two semi-optional courses. The rest of the programme is made up of elective courses and the final master's thesis.

Admission

  • A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree* , or equivalent diploma in (European) Law.
  • Motivation letter in English
    • Students must submit a motivation letter as well as a resume, transcript and photo.
  • A proficiency in English
    In order to take part in this programme, you need to have an adequate knowledge of English. Non-native speakers of English** need to prove their proficiency by one of the following tests:
    • A TOEFL score with a minimum score of 90 overall (internet-based, with a minimum of 23 for writing) or 575 (paper-based).
    • An IELTS score with a minimum of 6.5 overall (with a minimum score of 6.0 minimum for the components listening, reading and speaking and a 6.5 minimum for writing); or
    • A Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) with a grade of C or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) with a grade of C.

 

* Students who obtained their degree in Indonesia e.g., are required to have obtained a Master's degree in Law (Sarjana Hukum II).
 

** Applicants are considered to be a native speaker of English if they are a citizen of Australia, Canada (with exception of Quebec), Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, USA or South Africa, or if they have obtained an LL.B Bachelor's programme in Law in one of the countries mentioned above. Students from the European Law School Bachelor at Radboud University, are also exempted from a language test.
