Studying Master of Electronics and ICT Engineering Technology at the University of Antwerp

This one-year Master’s programme will give you the knowledge, skills and competences to design
and research new electronics and ICT engineering technologies by combining informatics, communication and electronics with new state-of-the-art machine learning, Cyber-Physical Systems or Internet of Things methodologies. The lessons will be a mix of theory and practice in which you will gain more in-depth knowledge of the relevant advanced topics.

Master of Electronics and ICT Engineering Technology: Study Content

You can choose between 3 majors. In each major, 60% of your time will be invested in practical engineering.


Major 1: Distributed Artificial Intelligence

In your Master's thesis (21 ECTS) and in the course Distributed Artificial Intelligence (12 ECTS) you will build, test and implement solutions for complex machine learning related engineering problems within UAntwerp’s technology test beds (smart highway, smart waterway, autonomous car...). 

 

 

Major 2: Internet of Things

In your Master's thesis (21 ECTS) and in the course Internet of Things (12 ECTS) you will build, test and deploy solutions for energy aware wireless battery or battery-less applications.

 

 

Major 3: Cyber-Physical Systems

In your Master's thesis (21 ECTS) and in the course Cyber-Physical Systems (12 ECTS) you will build, test and deploy control solutions in a cyber-physical context with non-trivial functional and non-functional constraints.

Master of Electronics and ICT Engineering Technology: Admission requirements

Applicants need to have an academic Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. All applications will be screened by the admission board for motivation and background in an academic bachelor of industrial sciences: electronics-ICT.

If your Bachelor’s degree has not been issued by a recognised educational institution in Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxembourg, you will have to prove your proficiency in English.

 

Admission procedure and deadlines

If your Bachelor’s degree has not been issued by a recognised educational institution in Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxembourg, you will have to follow an online admission procedure that consists of two parts. All information about this procedure is available at www.uantwerp.be/admission.

 

The deadline is 1 March for non-EEA students and students requiring a student visa, and 15 May for EEA students.
