Global Human Resource Management MSc at Newcastle University Business School

Our Global Human Resource Management MSc will prepare you for a career as a highly marketable graduate who can make an immediate contribution to any multinational organisation.

 

You will explore the challenges presented by a complex global economy and develop your skills as a human resource professional, who can respond to the changing nature of a diverse global workforce.

 

You will be required to apply your knowledge and skills to global HR problems through a variety of practical situations such as: relevant case studies in international settings; practical exercises such as role play used to develop your key employee relations skills; and group exercises with tutor feedback to develop your ethical awareness, skills in managing stakeholder relationships, the effective management of human resourcing and development and in organising and assessing the delivery of HR services.

 

You will gain an understanding of:

 

  • the management of people in a global economy
  • contemporary approaches to human resource management development and its impact on business performance
  • the potential contribution of effective employment relations to the enhancement of employee work performance, well-being and organisational effectiveness, the practice of employee relations in different nation states
  • the nature and importance of the ethical issues in human resource management, critical challenges to the human resource practitioner, diversity and professional considerations

Global Human Resource Management MSc at Newcastle University Business School: Admission

You will able to show a clear commitment to pursuing a career in Global Human Resource Management, either as a practitioner or within academia. Students will will be able to demonstrate an understanding of what this type of work involves and how they believe they are suitable for it. We are particularly keen to attract individuals willing to question and critique current thinking within the discipline and with a desire to develop improved methods of managing an organisation’s human resource.
 

Academic requirements: For entry onto this Master’s course, you should hold a minimum upper-second-class Honours (2:1) Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent equivalent from any subject background.
 

English language: IELTS 6.5 overall score with no sub skill below 6.0.
