Starting your career
Finished your Masters. Now what?

Starting your career

Got your Masters under your belt and want to start your career? All doors are open to you. Sometimes, you might not be able to see the wood for the trees. Should you apply for a job or is it better to first do an internship to get some orientation? In times of globalization, working abroad is often a topic to think about as well.

What to do?

There is no easy answer to the question of how to best enter the workforce. It is totally up to you. In case you’re completely unsure of what to do, an internship might be the right solution. If you have already completed several internships, or if you have a clear idea of your dream job, it might be better to start applying for a job right away. It always depends on you and your personal circumstances.

Working at home or abroad?

Working abroad is always a plus in your CV. Yet you should know what it means to be abroad on your own. Have you been abroad for a longer period of time before? Do you know how to cope with it? In any case, working and living abroad gives you a unique working experience that you can benefit from for the rest of your life.

In a nutshell

Whether you are applying for an entry-level job, an internship, at home or abroad—you always have to submit an application. See below for useful information on all of the above-mentioned topics.
